It is proven that smoking will be very harmful to our health and may lead to dead. But still, there are millions of people out there who continue to smoke

The effect of nicotine in a cigarette is by stimulating the nervous system to form dopamine which has a tranquilizing effect. A smoker is sensing a calming effect, brighter mind and does not feel hungry since dopamine suppress hunger. This euphoria effect causes addiction to nicotine.

Smoke of a cigarette carries about 4.000 chemical substances that are proven dangerous to our health. Among them are nicotine and tar. Nicotine supposed to be responsible for the addictive property, while tar is a potential carcinogen that causes cancer. Another dangerous risk is emphysema (reduction of the lung’s elasticity and damage of the alveoli). This is due to the formation of elastase, an enzyme that causes the damage. The patient will suffer from prolonged tight breathing.

Smoking also affects the function of phyllia cells which promote the passage of mucous in the respiratory tract. The accumulation of mucous will make the upper respiratory tract susceptible for infection. Other vulnerable diseases are chronic bronchitis, asthma, carbon-monoxide poisoning, heart attack and stroke.
